Company

B.A.G. Spa, owner of the NeroGiardini brand, owes its success to the production of quality fashion footwear and accessories.
Based in Monte San Pietrangeli (FM) in the Marche Region, NeroGiardini lies at the heart of the local Fermo-Macerata footwear district, renowned for its leather craftsmanship tradition. The company is led by Enrico Bracalente, sole administrator of BAG SpA.

ENRICO BRACALENTE
SOLE ADMINISTRATOR

Enrico Bracalente was born in 1957 in Monte San
Pietrangeli, a hillside village in the south of the Marche
region, a well-known cluster for footwear production. That
was the era of family businesses, typically ‘one house, one
workshop’, micro-sized enterprises boasting high value in
terms of craftsmanship, and Enrico had the opportunity
to get an in-depth knowledge of the entire footwear production
process.

In 1975, he decided to start his own business and set up
a small shoe factory together with his brother Luigi and a
partner; in those years he worked as a subcontractor,
while planning the company’s new development. By 1990,
at the age of 33, Enrico had acquired the necessary skills
to move on to the next stage: he started his own production,
and developed the NeroGiardini brand.

Led by his inherent instinct for business, he decided to
profoundly revise the company, by focusing “not only on
the product”; he started to get out of the old conception
of the small business and imagined a brand based on
three pillars: products, service, and communication. Enrico
defined the key features of the brand: recognisability
in terms of style, quality and comfort, artisan know-how
integrated with advanced technology. He inferred the potentials
of the ‘warehouse-based production’ model, a
completely innovative system in the footwear sector.
The choice of such a production model - based on production
scheduling and stocks – required huge investments
in the logistics sector, which led to the setting up
of the Replenishment Service. Such service soon became
one of the company’s distinguishing features.

During the years marked by delocalisation and the logics
of cheap labour, Enrico decided once again to swim
against the tide, and chose to maintain his business in
Italy, in the region where he was born. This decision
proved to be far-sighted, in fact it became one of the
company’s strengths, thanks to the very high production
quality and speed guaranteed by the ‘short supply
chain’. Being aware of the great value of Made in Italy
and determined to promote and safeguard the historical
craftsmanship heritage of his region, in 2012 Enrico established
the Three-Year Training Course for Footwear
Operators, with a certificate recognised by the European
Community.

The company has been growing exponentially over the
years, while conquering and consolidating a leading position
in the Italian market; it is now well-positioned in the
medium-high product segment. In 2016 Enrico Bracalente
started to expand his business to foreign markets, and
NeroGiardini rapidly became one of the most appreciated
Made in Italy brands.
The vision of an entrepreneur has become a solid business
reality: the perfect synthesis between the craftsmanship
excellence of his land and the most advanced
industrial technologies.

“The real strength and wealth of the company are mainly represented by the human resources who work and collaborate with us.”

Quality made in Italy

The concept of Made in Italy is at the heart of our business project, as can be seen from the Made in Italy label, which is an integral part of our footwear.
NeroGiardini certifies the Made in Italy by inserting the symbol of the Italian flag in the load-bearing base of the footwear, not on extractable parts or parts that are placed at an advanced stage of the manufacturing process.
A "basic choice" that is the signature of our products, guaranteeing their quality from the raw materials to the entire production chain. The quality of the materials we use is certified by the international pictograms on the adhesive label on the sole of the shoe and on the box.

The production

DESIGN, QUALITY AND ITALIAN STYLE ARE THE HALLMARKS OF THE NEROGIARDINI FOOTWEAR, ACCESSORY AND CLOTHING COLLECTIONS.

Owing its success to Made in Italy creativity and quality craftsmanship, NeroGiardini holds a solid leading position in the mid-range segment of the Italian market, where its products are distributed nationwide. The company has been on the forefront of distribution logistics, with a high number of NeroGiardini showrooms located all over Italy, to support a superior sales network and engage with its customers.

The company and its people

The Company and its people
NeroGiardini relies on highly skilled personnel, with experience from the best Italian footwear culture, who can express their talent in a modern, dynamic and friendly working environment. This keen attention to human resources is found again in the strong commitment to training the new generations: Enrico Bracalente is very active in collaborating with local schools to train future skilled workers, who will be able to keep up with the market needs.

The Project in collaboration with the Centro di Formazione Professionale Artigianelli authorised by the Fermo province, with which NeroGiardini has launched a two-year vocational course for “Operatore per la calzatura”. This programme aims at traning 16-18 year olds to become qualified technicians to employ in the footwear industry.

The logistics platform

DEVELOPED TO HANDLE AND SHIP NEROGIARDINI PRODUCTS
In addition to the headquarters in Monte San Pietrangeli, the company owns four additional manufacturing plants and a modern 12.000 sqm logistics facility.

Located in Fermo’s industrial area, the new logistics platform is the first in Italy and second in Europe for importance in the footwear industry. Entirely computerised, the logistics department handles and ships all NeroGiardini products for men, women and children. The clothing lines are manufactured by specialized companies in nearby districts, in the Marche and Abruzzo regions.
